“World Interrupted” The remarkable effects of disruptive design
The 2016 Salesforce Design Leadership Conference is a one-day symposium with some of the most exciting minds working today. Each year I determine a theme. From there, my team and I fashion a program that pushes beyond the pastiche of visual design and into processes and systems, the goal being, to inspire and leave the audience reevaluating their perspectives on design.
This year, subjects ranged from humans vs. machines, architectural alchemy, germ harmony, reimagining food cultivation, the disruptive novel, and the much-anticipated Hyperloop. Speakers included, product designer, Mark Rolston, New York Times Best-Selling novelist, Doug Dorst, Architect, Chad Oppenheim, Biodiversity Scientist, Dr. Jessica Green, Technology Strategist, Patrick Kalaher, Director of Product Engineering, Chris Vasquez, Chefs, Karen Leibowitz and Anthony Myint, and Kat Gordon, Founder of The 3% Conference.
Presented at the de Young Museum’s Koret Theater to a live audience of over 300, it proved to be a huge success and one hell of a day.
